Keeping with the food theme, the results of the Bassetlaw Pie n Peas/Beans results are in.
A few hardy Smurfs met in the Nellie car park bright and early on Sunday morning, not because we wanted to intimidate the opposition by arriving in convoy, but only Chris (aka I know a shortcut) Smurf knew the way.
So off into the wilds of North Notts we went, with a spring in our step and hopes high of returning with some silverware.
The weather was bright and warm as long as you were standing in the sunshine and was a little chilly in the shade. The rain and wind held off, which was fortunate as the impeccable organisation went slightly wrong as we didn’t have a tent between us.
Shooting commenced at exactly 10:30 by Mario’s watch, and we all stepped up to the line and let off a few pointy sticks. Barry hand a bit of a nightmare as his precious bit of paper with all of his sight marks had mysteriously disappeared, so there were a few wayward shots.
Lunchtime arrived and the Pie and Peas were eagerly anticipated by some; strangely the Peas bore a remarkable resemblance to Beans.
Suitably refreshed, the afternoon session began quietly only to be shattered by the expensive sound of Ismail’ bow limbs breaking forcing him to retire.
