This is the first inaugural club Barebow Challenge and all club members are invited. The idea is simple, everyone shoots Barebow over a range of distances 60/100yds (this might change) and then the targets are brought closer.
The theme for the first competition is Medieval, so the target faces will all have some medieval connection to them (apart from the odd Minion thrown in!), everyone is also encouraged to bring along a target face. Members are also encouraged to dress up (it’s optional for the shy members amongst us) for the occasion with a prize going to the best Fancy Dress.
Prizes will also be awarded for First, Second and Third place for Junior and Seniors and there will also be a raffle, (un)fortunately Shai isn’t in charge of prizes! We will also be holding the usual Bag Of Gold competition.
There won’t be a barbeque, but there will be food available with Pork Joints, Stuffing, cobs and soft drinks. If there are any vegetarians or other food allergies, please let us know beforehand if you are entering.
Finally, all arrows must be fully detectable along the whole length of the arrow, except for anyone shooting Longbow who can use wooden arrows with metal piles. For anyone who does not have access to a Barebow, the club bows and arrows will be available.
Look out for the event on the new Club Events Calendar and the poster on the Club Hut Door.
If you would like to attend, please let Shai or Karen know as soon as possible.
